Aloha Supporter,

On behalf of Maui United Way, we extend our heartfelt gratitude and mahalo for your generous contribution to our Maui Fire Disaster Relief Fund. Thanks to you, we are responding to immediate needs via daily grant approvals to existing grassroots organizations that are local and focused on meeting basic needs, including mental health.

All our work is guided by a deep desire to increase equity and decrease long-standing disparities for communities, including the AAPI populations, especially Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander populations.  And 100% of the donations to Maui United Way stay in Hawaii.

To date, we have distributed funding to nonprofit direct service organizations for the following:

  • Food, shelter, and crisis counseling
  • Cots, blankets, cleanup kits, work gloves, ice chests, flashlights, tarps, dust masks, and shelter staff
  • Medical outreach and supplies to impacted families by Native Hawaiian practitioners
  • Help for impacted ohana with disabilities and mobility issues
  • Additional provisions for local shelters for displaced families
  • Transportation to essential services such as chemotherapy, other doctors’ visits, and grocery shopping for fire survivors who lost their vehicles
  • Helping families replace documents lost during the Maui Fires such as IDs and passports that are needed to obtain housing, medical treatments, childcare, and other services
  • Collection of fresh produce and proteins from local growers and suppliers for weekly distribution to partners serving the houseless and displaced

Maui United Way is also launching direct Emergency Financial Assistance for survivors of the fire to meet the needs of those who lost everything.

We are so grateful to you for everything.  Recovery will take time, so please continue to keep our ?ohana in your hearts.  We humbly ask you to consider becoming a recurring donor.  Mahalo nui loa for the consideration.

 Malama pono,

Your Maui United Way

Please note that Morweb.com will show up as the vendor on your bank statements. They are the host of our website that accepts the donation on our behalf.
