With the continued support of our community, 55,806 services were provided last year for people in need. Here are a few stories of how our community’s generosity is changing lives for
the better.
"When my son was a youngster I called on BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS OF MAUI. The time he spent with his Big had such a positive impact for him. Here I am years later and am beyond words to be a
Big Sister! My Little (Litty) and I spend time together in individual and organized activities. I am grateful to the caring partnership of BBBS of Maui for affording me the opportunity to be
part of building a lasting relationship, and to be a positive role model and friend to my Little (Litty)."
– Roxanne (Hoku) Hu (Big Sister)
"When I first met Hoku, I was really excited and nervous. But when I started opening up to Hoku I felt more comfortable. I always wanted a sister, little or big so I am blessed I have Hoku."
– Litty Obet (Little Sister)
“We appreciated everything HOSPICE MAUI did for our mom, Edith Ichiriu. Mom had a special connection and fondness for Laurie, one of her caregivers. She called Laurie her
“cosmopolitan angel”. Laurie’s kindness and compassion really came through and she was like a member of our family. She provided much love and support to mom and we are ever
so grateful for that.”

Madalyn Moore started as a Daisy Girl Scout and will be a 2nd Year Brownie Girl Scout this year. She has grown so much as a person; she is very respectful and caring about herself, others and
her troops. She has learned the Girl Scout Promise & Law and follows through with it. Madalyn has learned to help others and I find her caring for the elderly. I plan to keep Madalyn in
Girl Scouts as long as possible, as a parent I see my daughter growing into a young woman with the help of GIRL SCOUTS.
