Jason is an attorney and nonprofit professional with a long history of community service and philanthropy. Prior to joining Maui United Way, Jason established himself as an expert in public policy, land use regulation, and legislative advocacy through his law firm, Economou Law & Consulting, and his tenure as Government Affairs Director for the Realtors Association of Maui. Jason’s diverse professional background also includes broadcast journalism, litigation, teaching, and service as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Uganda, where he launched national indigenous-language spelling competitions and helped build a community center in a rural mountaintop village.
Jason graduated magna cum laude from the honors program at The Citadel with a degree in English, and he earned his Juris Doctor degree from Charleston School of Law. When he isn’t working or volunteering, Jason can be found in Iao Valley or at the beach with his wife Lantana and their adorable son Magnus.
