Visit our booth at the Maui County Fair. We will be there from October 1 to 4 at 5pm to 9pm on Thursday and Friday, 10am to 2pm on Saturday, and 5pm to 9pm on Sunday.

Support is in the works for working households. Across Maui Nui, many households are working and earning too much to qualify for traditional assistance, yet still struggling to cover the rising costs of housing, food, child care, transportation and other essentials. These households are often described as ALICE: Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. About 50 percent of Maui Nui residents are considered ALICE or in poverty. They are an essential part of our community, but too often fall through the gaps in existing support systems.

Maui United Way is exploring a new approach to help ALICE households build greater financial stability. In partnership with the County of Maui, we are developing a pilot initiative designed to connect eligible working households with financial support and personalized care.
