awarded in 2026-2029
Hardworking families across Maui County are facing unprecedented financial pressures as the cost of living continues to rise. Many struggle to afford housing, food, childcare, healthcare and transportation despite working full-time. Maui United Way’s Community Resiliency Fund is a long-term investment in the people and organizations helping Maui, Molokaʻi and Lānaʻi meet these challenges.
The fund supports programs that promote financial stability, improve health and well-being, and expand access to opportunity. Priority is given to initiatives serving ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) households and families living below the federal poverty level, ensuring resources reach those facing the greatest barriers to economic security.
As Maui County continues to recover from the impacts of the 2023 wildfires and recent flooding, trusted local nonprofits play a vital role in supporting individuals and families. Through the Community Resiliency Fund, Maui United Way invests in organizations delivering essential services, removing barriers to success and helping communities adapt and recover. Together, we are creating a stronger, more resilient Maui County where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
