Maui United Way’s Ola Maui Nui Grant invests in local nonprofits that share our belief that strong communities don’t happen by chance. They’re built by organizations doing the hard work to strengthen health, food systems, resilience and financial security. By supporting trusted nonprofit organizations, the fund helps people navigate today’s challenges while building a stronger, more resilient future.

While the 2023 fires directly devastated parts of Maui, impacts were felt across Maui Nui. Molokai and Lānaʻi communities continue to face disruptions to critical transportation, supply chain issues, limited access to health care and other essential services in the years since the fires. The 2026 Kona Low Storm and subsequent hurricane continue to challenge recovery. The Ola Maui Nui Grant supports organizations that help residents across all three islands navigate these ongoing impacts and strengthen the communities they call home.

Maui United Way anticipates investing up to $2.7 million in FY2026-27 through the Ola Maui Nui Grant program. Eligible nonprofits may request up to $100,000 to support programs, services and initiatives across Maui, Molokai and Lānaʻi. Organizations may submit one application per review cycle. If not selected, organizations may apply again in the next cycle. Funding is awarded only once.
