Stronger Community Outcomes

Strengthening Nonprofits.
Strengthening Communities.

Growth starts at the community level. When nonprofits have the resources and support they need to take root and flourish, they can better respond to local needs, provide critical services, and help people and families reach their full potential.

When nonprofits work together, communities thrive. Maui United Way serves as a connector, convener and investor in the nonprofit sector, helping organizations access the resources, knowledge and partnerships needed to maximize their impact.

By evaluating community needs, identifying service gaps and understanding how organizations across sectors are responding, Maui United Way helps guide funding, resources and collaboration where they can achieve the greatest impact. Through grants, capacity-building programs, training and strategic partnerships, we strengthen the nonprofit ecosystem across Maui, Molokaʻi and Lānaʻi to create more effective and sustainable solutions.

Whether seeking funding, professional development or nonprofit support, local organizations can count on Maui United Way to help them grow, innovate and serve our communities more effectively.

Grant Making: A New Way of Giving

Maui United Way now offers year-round open enrollment for its Maui Nui Response Fund. Proposals received by the quarterly deadline (September 30, December 30, March 30 or June 30) are eligible for review. Any applications received after the deadline will be reviewed the next quarter. All eligible proposals are evaluated based on community need, alignment with recovery and resiliency priorities, available funding and potential impact. Organizations will be notified of funding decisions following the completion of each quarterly review.
